Move a Key Product License to a new machine

For Standalone Installation:

  1. On the current machine, run License Server Admin Tool (from Start Menu, or C:\Program Files\Common Files\Transoft Solutions\Licensing), confirm Host (localhost) and Port (27099) and click OK.
  2. Choose your product from the drop-down list and click on Select to open the License Information dialog.
  3. Click on Deactivate License and enter information to deactivate.
  4. Make sure Deactivation is successful.
  5. Install product on the new machine using your original License Number and CD Key
  6. Run the software. On the Authorization screen, please click on Request Authorization and enter your information to activate the product.

For Network Server Installation:

  1. On the current server, run License Server Admin Tool(from Start Menu, product folder), confirm Host (server name) and Port (27099) and click OK.
  2. Choose your product from the drop-down list and click on Select to open the License Information dialog.
  3. On the License Information dialog, please click on Deactivate License and enter information to deactivate the license on the current server.
  4. Install the Network Server License Manager on the new server. 
  5. Open License Server Admin Tool select Add New and input your License Number and CD Key.
  6. On the License Information dialog, please click on Activate License and enter information to activate the license on the new server
  7. To point each client / workstation to the new License Server, start the LicenceSetupUtility.exe that is located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Transoft Solutions\Licensing and update any relevant information.

When using Activate License, if you are sent to an empty web page, or a pop-up appears that suggests to check your firewall settings, please note that you can configure your firewall as follows in order to use Transoft Authorization Service:

If Transoft Solutions License Server V2.1 is installed:

Target IP: Use FQDN
Target FQDN: https://online-auth.transoftsolutions.com
Target Ports: 443 (HTTPS)

For older versions of Transoft Solutions License Server:

Target IP: Use FQDN
Target FQDN: https://online-auth.transoftsolutions.com
Target Ports: 27010

In addition to the above steps, please note that you should also move Usage Report files from the old server to the new one. Those files are stored in License Server\Archive folder. If you have installed License Server in the default path, you will find Archive folder in the following location on the old server, and should copy it to the new server to License Server\Archive folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Transoft Solutions\License Server\Archive
