Configuring CodeMeter on a Network/server (Dongle connected to a Network/Server)

System requirements for a CodeMeter server

To set up a CodeMeter server - as a network license server you will need the following:

  • A computer with a network connection (should be running during work hours)
  • The computer needs to have at least one free USB port (to connect the CodeMeter dongle)
  • CodeMeter runtime needs to be installed (Downloadable from the website https://www.wibu.com/support/user/user-software.html)

To reconfigure the license to enable communication with the client machine, please do the following:

Set up a Server

  1. Configure CodeMeter as a network server.
    Open CodeMeter Control Center and click on the "WebAdmin" button at the bottom right or open http://localhost:22352/
  2. Navigate in CodeMeter WebAdmin to "Configuration|Server|Server Access".
  3. Select the "Enable" option in the "Network server" area and confirm with "Apply".

  4. Re-open CodeMeter Control Center.
  5. Click the Navigation entry "Process| Restart CodeMeter Service" to restart CodeMeter as a network server.

Client Side Settings (User computer)

It is only necessary to specify if the license server is not running inside the local network (remote access through the internet) or if you have several license servers running on the local network. Do not forget to hit the Apply button when you are done

Configure the network settings so that the client can find the server.

  • Open CodeMeter Control Center and click the WebAdmin button at the bottom right or open http://localhost:22352/
  • Navigate in CodeMeter WebAdmin to "Configuration|Basic|Server Search List".
  • Enter the server by DNS name or IP address in the server search list.
  • Confirm with "Apply".
