Issue
When running KeySCAPE the warning message below appears:
KSYS_AppSetup_InitLog() - Unable to create Log File
Solution
Every time KeySCAPE starts we create and write to a log file, ‘KSYS_AppSetup_Execute.log’, in the users Documents folder. This is helpful for troubleshooting execution errors.
This warning message will appear if you are not able to create/write to the file in your Documents folder, although it should not stop KeySCAPE loading. This most typically occurs when the customers Documents folder is on a OneDrive and the log file is locked because it is being synced with the OneDrive.
To fix this, please go to Documents folder and delete the file ‘KSYS_AppSetup_Execute.log’, which will be created the next time you run KeySCAPE.
If the error message persists thereafter, please check Documents folder permissions, OneDrive sync settings, or virus checker settings with your IT.
Note: There are two additional log files created in the Documents folder, which may be useful on occasions:
KSYS_AppSetup_Install.log - a one-off summary of the KeySCAPE installation.
KSYS_AppSetup_Config.log - a summary of changes made in the Configuration dialog on first run and when the Configuration application is run outside of KeySCAPE.
