Issue
I need to create a new KeyACCIDENT Database for a new or existing device
Solution
1. Load KeyACCIDENT Database module
2. On the Tools ribbon, click Change Database
3. Click on Create New Database
4. Specify the type of server hosting the database (SQL or Azure SQL) and click Next
5. Fill in the Database Name and Database Server administrative credentials, for example:
For an existing set up, the existing server and database login may already be populated
These are user details created at login
You may only need to complete:
- Database Name (for the new database)
- Admin Password (the ‘sa’ password for your SQL server)
6. Click Create Database
When the database is created you will get confirmation – click OK
7. You will need to specify the police force from the dropdown menu (or multiple police forces for national highway authorities) and click OK
8. The database will then be configured
9. Click Yes to be connected to the new database
No will leave you connected to the current database
10. The status bar confirms your database connection – you’re good to go now!
11. You can switch between databases using Change Database and selecting from the Available Databases dropdown
It is good practice to click Test and Change Database to confirm the connection and switch
