Issue
I get error messages when trying to create reports in KeyACCIDENT, for example:
Solution
KeyACCIDENT uses Crystal Reports© to power the Report Viewer and generate reports. Occasionally, but by no means always, Crystal Reports can be affected by external changes, such as a Windows update. That could lead to the problem you’re experiencing.
To resolve this, we advise you to install the latest Crystal Reports Service Pack. Installation needs IT local administrator rights.
The Crystal Reports Service Pack can be downloaded from, for example, the SAP Crystal Reports Download page.
Set the Selection Criteria to:
- Software Product: SAP Crystal Reports, version for Visual Studio
- Product Version: default
- Software Type: default
After selecting, click GO. There will be a long list of files, choose the “CR for Visual Studio <SPNN> CR Runtime 64-bit MSI” option, where SPNN is the latest service pack version. Click the hyperlink to start the download.
Alternatively, if there is a newer version of KeyACCIDENT available, upgrading should also fix the reporting problem. If upgrading, you should check compatibility with other software versions, such as AutoCAD and KeyOSC Mapper, to see if they also need upgrading. See our Product Compatibility Matrix for details.
Software upgrades to the latest version are recommended and are included within your licence at no additional charge.
Note: in the unlikely event that a similar problem occurs after installing the service pack, uninstalling Crystal Reports and reinstalling it with the latest version should resolve this.
