KeyACCIDENT Migration: can I amend migration settings after migrating legacy data?

Issue

I’ve used the KeyACCIDENT Migration Wizard to map 2011 format data to the 2024 format, but I now want to change the settings. Can I do that?

Solution

This will need assistance of someone with IT admin rights who is a system administrator (SA).

The data migration is a one-way process that will merge some fields that can’t later be disaggregated. Once you’ve mapped your 2011 format (legacy) data to the STATS19 2024 format, you can only amend these settings by starting again by rerunning the Migration Wizard to create a new database.

Note: This will also remove any STATS19 2024 format records added to your new, migrated database. These will need to be reimported.

If you need to keep changes you have made to the data, you will need to:

  • Search the relevant date range of the amended data
  • Export as a KAMZ export file

Once you’ve rerun the Migration Wizard, you can import the KAMZ export file

Option 1: We kept our existing v7 database and created a new 2024-format database

  1. Close KeyACCIDENT
  2. Delete the new 2024-format database
  3. Open KeyACCIDENT to relaunch the Migration Wizard
  4. Make your new data mapping choices
  5. Complete the mapping of your v7 database with the Migration Wizard
  6. Your new KeyACCIDENT database is ready to use
  7. Reimport any 2024 format data files

Option 2: We overwrote our v7 database and created a backup

  1. Close KeyACCIDENT
  2. Open KeyACCIDENT v7
  3. With the Change Database function (Tools > Change Database), connect to your v7 backup database
  4. Close KeyACCIDENT v7
  5. Delete the new 2024-format database
  6. Open KeyACCIDENT to relaunch the Migration Wizard
  7. Make your new data mapping choices
  8. Complete the mapping of your v7 database with the Migration Wizard
  9. Your new KeyACCIDENT database is ready to use
  10. Reimport any 2024 format data files
