Answer: For point cloud files, AutoTURN can perform conflict detection with up to 10000 points at a time. If conflict detection needs to be performed against more points in the file, the simulation can be broken down into smaller sections and each section will report conflicts with up to 10000 points. This is to maintain decent levels of performance for the tool.
Point cloud files captured using Lidar technology need to be imported and converted into a surface in the CAD environment (e.g. AutoCAD or MicroStation) you will find videos on how to perform this in the support pages of each of those CAD platforms. AutoTURN Pro is a 3rd party application that runs on top of the CAD platform.
Point reduction and manipulation are functions of the CAD platform, not AutoTURN Pro. To run 3D simulations on top of a terrain based on point cloud files, a mesh or triangulated tin surface will need to be created using the CAD platform tools for such purposes.
