Vertical Labels – Customize Vertical Label Settings (Plateia, Ferrovia, Aquaterra)
(Improved on CGS Labs 2026)
The 21O1 – Vertical Labels command is used to create labels for vertical alignment elements, such as vertical slopes and vertical radii.
The label settings allow you to control the displayed information, label position, color, and text appearance. You can also define whether vertical labels are placed on the left or right side of the horizontal alignment.
Create Vertical Labels
- Start the 21O1 – Vertical Labels command.
- In the main dialog, define the required input data.
- Click the Settings icon in the lower-left corner of the dialog.
The Vertical Labels Settings dialog opens.
The settings are organized into three tabs. The available parameters are displayed on the left side of the dialog, while the right side provides a preview of the labels.
The preview is updated automatically when the settings are changed. Use the preview to check the label configuration before inserting the labels into the drawing.
Configure Label Settings
Use the available settings to define the appearance and positioning of the vertical labels.
For example, the Color parameter can be changed to define the label color. The change is displayed immediately in the preview.
Configure Data Labels
The Data Label tab contains settings for the information displayed in the labels.
If a specific value is not required, it can be hidden by changing its position setting.
- Select the required data value.
- Open the Position drop-down menu.
- Select
/.
The selected value will not be displayed in the label.
Configure Label Position
Vertical labels can be positioned on either side of the horizontal alignment.
The default placement can be set to:
- Left side of the horizontal alignment.
- Right side of the horizontal alignment.
Individual labels can also be adjusted after they have been created. A label can be moved to the opposite side by using the Mirror option.
The position can also be reset for the entire alignment when the original label placement needs to be restored.
Configure Text
Use the third tab to adjust the available text parameters.
Configure the text appearance according to the requirements of the longitudinal profile. The result can be checked directly in the preview.
Insert the Labels
After completing the settings:
- Check the label configuration in the preview.
- Click OK.
- The vertical labels are inserted into the drawing.
The resulting labels display the selected vertical alignment information using the configured position and text settings.
21O1 Improvements
In the updated 21O1 – Vertical Labels functionality, vertical labels are no longer restricted to placement on the left side of the horizontal alignment.
You can now:
- Set the default label placement to the left or right side.
- Adjust the position of individual labels.
- Mirror individual labels to the opposite side.
- Reset the label position for the entire alignment.
These options provide greater control over the placement of vertical slope, vertical radius, and other vertical alignment labels within the longitudinal profile.
