Issue
I need to set up KeyACCIDENT users with different permission levels
What user management systems are available?
Solution
KtsUSERS
Traditionally, KeyACCIDENT user access and permission levels have been managed with KtsUSERS, a feature built into KeyACCIDENT
KtsUSERS does not support two factor authentication (2FA, MFA)
KtsUSERS administrators can set, or reset, user passwords
Designated users can access KtsUSERS within the KeyACCIDENT Database module at Tools > User Settings > Manage Users
Some customers leave user management to a KeyACCIDENT “power user”
Other customers carry out user management within their IT support
The KeyACCIDENT user login looks like this
Available roles are:
- Viewer
- Writer
- Administrator
“Administrators” can manage audit data and database access within KeyACCIDENT and, with IT support, create or delete databases – they do not have elevated IT admin rights

MS Azure User Authentication
KeyACCIDENT is compatible MS Azure User Authentication
For organisations using Azure, MS Azure User Authentication is a more modern and secure means of managing access to KeyACCIDENT
MS Azure User Authentication supports a wider range of permission levels to increase user functionality without providing unnecessary levels of access, an important aspect in careful management of valuable collision and casualty data
MS Azure User Authentication in KeyACCIDENT does support two factor authentication (2FA, MFA)
MS Azure User Authentication aligns KeyACCIDENT login with users’ Windows login, meaning enhanced security, avoiding password sharing, and ensuring regular password changes
