When I start AutoTURN, I get the following alert: "An error occurred when synchronizing the network database." (applicable to AutoTURN 10.0 and newer)

A database synchronization failed error message indicates that the workstation is not able to communicate with the server database.
Still, users can continue and work on their projects using the software but the vehicle sharing function will be disabled.

NOTE: This article applies to AutoTURN 10.0 and newer. If your version is AutoTURN 9.1 or older, please click this link to go to the correct article.

This error is most likely to be caused by these reasons.

1. The Data Sharing Service isn't started on the server
2. The Workstation and Server cannot communicate over port 27081.
3. Communication is being blocked by desktop security solutions.
4. Missing component Visual Studio C++ Redistributable 2015

Please check the following solutions or ask your IT staff for assistance.

1. The Data Sharing Service isn't started on the server

Confirm if the Data Sharing Service is running

  • On the server, please go to Start -> Run and type: services.msc and scroll down to Transoft Solutions Data Sharing Service.
  • Right-click the service and choose Start or Restart and see if that resolves the issue.

If the issue still persists, check your firewall and security settings to ensure that TCP traffic is allowed between the workstation and server using port 27081 for sharing custom vehicles via the Data Sharing Service.

2. The Workstation and Server cannot communicate over port 27081

Confirm that workstation and server can communicate using port 27081

In order to check the status of the Data Sharing Service on the server from the workstation;

The result in the webpage should show you a “1” in the top left corner, or the browser will try to download a JSON file.

If you receive an error message then it’s most likely that your firewall blocks TCP port 27081.

  • Please add an Inbound Rule for TCP port 27081.

3. Communication is being blocked by desktop security solutions

Please also verify that the communication is not being blocked by an anti-malware from the workstations. Check this by temporarily disabling the protection to see if the issue is resolved.

Another thing to try is to change the hostname to the IP address in the AutoTURN Configuration utility to be found on the Workstation in the folder
"C:\Program Files\Transoft Solutions\AutoTURN 10\atconfig.exe".

4. Missing component Visual Studio C++ Redistributable 2015

Check if you have Visual studio c++ redistributable 2015 installed on that workstation.
